Overactive bladder and multiple sclerosis in the University Hospital of Oujda

Abstract Background Multiple sclerosis (MS) is the most frequent autoimmune neurological disease in young population. Vesico-sphincter disorders are course of disease; it has been reported that 90% MS patients will develop a lower urinary tract disorder within 18 years diagnosis. Methods The aim this study to identify frequency, severity, diagnosis, and treatment overactive bladder (OAB) at Mohammed VI hospital university Oujda-Morocco. It cross-sectional study. population was collected neurology department cohort consisted diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, which were invited urology where they underwent screening completed form questions regarding frequency severity OAB its influence on quality life. Result In our study, mean age 43 years, sample composed 48% males 52% females, symptom urgency (57%), followed by (29%) urge incontinence (14%). recurrent-remittent (62%), primary progressive (24%) secondary recurrent Among patients, 33% presented mild symptomatology, moderate, 19% severe. found intensity symptoms disability score positively correlated life duration. Conclusion major tract, associated patients. urological evaluation should be performed routinely treat condition appropriately.
